Getting Hyped for Great British Beef Week

Roast Topside with Fennel and Garlic Crust

We’re counting down to Great British Beef week 2015 here at Hereford Week. The weeklong celebration of the finest Beef in Britain kicks off on April 23rd, to coincide with St. George’s Day, and ends on May 3rd. The event is run by Ladies in Beef,  a group of female beef farmers who have a passion for British Beef. The aim of Great British Beef Week is to help promote the quality that is found in British Beef, along with the versatility of the meat. It’s also the perfect time for everyone to get into the kitchen and cook up some delicious beef dishes for friends and family.

Hereford Beef is proud to be one of Britain’s oldest native breeds of cattle.  The cattle enjoy a free-range life, living on green pastures and enjoying a grain free diet. The result is succulent and tender beef that delivers full flavour and a unique dining experience. Click here to learn more about Hereford Beef.

Britain’s Favourite Beef Dish

YouGov ran a survey to discover Britain’s favourite beef dish. The top spot went to the classic steak with 29% of the votes. Roast beef sits in second place with 23% of the votes and Spaghetti Bolognaise came 3rd with 14% of the votes. The results showed that it was the younger consumers that were supporting more cosmopolitan dishes, pushing steak into first place. The over 55’s were more inclined to vote for Roast beef as their absolute favourite.

We’ve gathered three excellent recipes if you’d like to celebrate Great British Beef Week with one of the top three beef dishes:
